How Volunteers Make a Difference

At our shelter, it’s often the simple, everyday gestures that make the biggest difference. A volunteer showing up to walk a dog, offering a gentle pat, or spending a few extra minutes playing can completely transform a dog’s life.

Volunteers are the heartbeat of our community. They bring consistency, joy, and human connection to dogs who may have known little trust or affection before. Walking a dog through the streets of Palaio Faliro, sharing quiet moments in the park, or helping socialise shy dogs are acts that build confidence and happiness.

But the impact goes both ways. Volunteers often find themselves changed, too—learning patience, empathy, and the joy of seeing a dog flourish under care and attention.
